Turf Solutions Group Installs Synthetic Turf Surface for Brownsburg C.F. Roark Stadium
BROWNSBURG, IN (August 2013) - As the doors open for yet another school year, students of Brownsburg High School will be able to start fresh on a new artificial turf football field. Thanks to a community partnership, Brownsburg Schools worked with Turf Solutions Group to install a new synthetic surface for C.F. Roark Stadium.
The stadium was named in August 1966 for C.F. Roark, who donated money to provide seating for football games. For the past 47 years, Brownsburg High School has used the field for sports and celebration. It still hosts the original press box from 1966, which over the years was upgraded to expand broadcast to radio, Internet and television. This year, they begin a new chapter for their community with the installation of synthetic turf.
As of this school year, the field is ready to go for practice and games on its new AstroTurf brand synthetic turf. AstroTurf is being used more and more across America for its quality, durability and performance under tough conditions. Turf Solutions Group installed 102,970 square feet of this synthetic turf for C.F. Roark Stadium. With synthetic turf, Brownsburg High School can constantly use the field with minimal maintenance, allowing for twice as many sporting events and activities per day than a natural turf counterpart field could hold.
High durability is incredibly important for Brownsburg High School, which hosts freshman, junior varsity and varsity football games along with soccer matches, most of which occur on the same weekends. AstroTurf can greatly withstand damage in all weather conditions.
Brownsburg High School's physical education courses, band, youth programs and community groups can also use the field in its off time. Home to about 20,000 people, Brownsburg has been cited by CNN Money Magazine in 2009 as the #1 place to live in Indiana. It's praised for its low crime, strong economy and, most importantly, excellent schools like Brownsburg High School.
There is a lot to be happy about in Brownsburg. And now, thanks to Turf Solutions Group and the Brownsburg community, C.F. Roark Stadium is the perfect place to celebrate.
